Environment Projects
The overall aim of this initiative is to enhance the surrounding natural beauty of the Dulais Valley. The help and aid of Volunteers from within the valley will benefit the project.
Examples of the projects are:
- Stone way marking on the Sarn Helen Road as shown in the photo.
- The "Care for Repair" project which enables us to offer a garden improvement service at a very good rate, and the elderly is mainly using this service.
- Monitoring fly tipping.
- Co-ordinating between bid owners.
The project will also help to improve the tourism in the valley by providing improved facilities such as cycle rides, footpaths and tourist information boards in each community. The project seeks to address a number of issues raised through the “Agenda 21” programme which highlighted a number of environmental improvements.
The Dulais Valley is blessed with outstanding natural beauty but also has a dark side as a result of fly tipping and burnt out cars. The warden, along with the team of volunteers, are a number of people are now being prosecuted for the damage.
